Teaching Skills Not Required!
TURBO-TUTOR® is a set of games
designed to be played with a person who can read the
"rules" and keep score, usually a parent or teacher, but
it could be any adult as teaching skills are not required. Students
should play TURBO-TUTOR no more than 30 minutes a day.
There are so many games in TURBO-TUTOR that you won't
have time to play them all in a 1/2 hour anyway.
Game & Video
TURBO-TUTOR provides all the tools to make it easy. Each
TURBO-TUTOR includes a total of 34 games, starting out with 5 entry
level games. To make it even easier, a Helper's Guide and a Helper's
Video are included. The helper guide provides an outline with
recommendations for a schedule, which games to play and how long
each game should take. Also, while there are NO tests with
TURBO-TUTOR, we include recommendations on the time frame between
moving to advanced levels and when the time is right.
Improved Learning Behavior
It's fun-and it works! If you will spend a few weeks with
TURBO-TUTOR, even just playing it on weekdays only, we guarantee you
that you will see an amazing difference in your child's grades,
classroom manners, the way he gets along with other kids, and the
way he behaves at home. You and your child will both want to
continue playing TURBO-TUTOR. We have seen it work with so many
youngsters, we have no doubt that it will make a wonderful
difference in your child's life too.
Learning, Structure, Repetition ,Focus and Emotional Well
Being
We humans are not the product of instinct and intuition. We can
only do what we have LEARNED to do. The toddler doesn't
instinctively know to keep away from the electric outlet or the
heating element on the stove. Fortunately, most will heed the wisdom
imparted to them by their parents or care givers and not have to
experience the shock or the burn. But, even those who are ignorant
or unheeding of the wisdom of their elders will learn quickly and
not repeat the process.
We know that learning is structured. We must learn our numbers
before we can learn addition and learn to add before we can learn to
multiply. If you took geometry in high school, you had to first
understand some algebra. It is the same with our learners if they
have missed an important initial building block, they are not going
to fully understand the concepts which must later build upon it.
Repetition is one key to learning. When we are teaching a child
the sounds of letters, we repeat those sounds many times over. When
we start to teach the child his numbers, we count apples, ducks or
whatever until finally he understands the idea that ten of something
is different than one of that thing. One learner may require a lot
more repetition to grasp a concept than does another. Even that
learner will find, as time goes by, that he requires fewer
repetitions for materials which build on the solid foundation he has
obtained.
Focus, or concentration, is the indispensable element of
learning. Concentration is not intuitive -- it is a skill. As a
skill, it is something that can be taught and learned. Concentration
simply means undivided attention. With TURBO-TUTOR, your learner
will learn to concentrate and upon that foundation we will build and
strengthen his educational abilities.
Emotional needs are also very important. For many learners who
have experienced frustration and failure, we know that their
self-esteem is eroded. Add the peer pressures at school and it is
not surprising when many of these learners develop anti-social
behavior patterns. They look at a new assignment and say to
themselves "I probably can't do that, so I won't bother to
try." As they work with TURBO-TUTOR®, you will find that this
attitude changes to "I am smart. I can do anything and I will
try." We developed TURBO-TUTOR to reinforce the positive,
enjoyable aspects of your learner's experiences at every stage. Kids
with learning differences or NOT dumb. In fact, most are average and
above average in IQ. They just learn things differently.
